An ode to 2023. May the lessons I learned and the support I felt carry me through for years to come.

Today’s my birthday YAY!! I say yay but with most birthdays that have passed in the last few years, I haven’t felt a feeling of jubilation or celebration.

Life lately has been a mix of so many things. I’m only just coming out of what feels like a two week self imposed hibernation. Not yet completely out of it but the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel is near. 

It’s been 3 months since I decided to cut my hair. Shaved it all off. Razor to scalp. And 3 months later it’s still one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself thus far.

I really pressured myself to get this post out before the end of last year. I was like ‘this is what everyone does you know and that’s what you’re supposed to do right? When you have a blog? Make sure you get that last post of the year in before it’s too late?’

I’m on my period. And with that comes the bleeding, leaking, tiredness, cramping, PMS’ing, the usual. For the last 20+ years it’s been a love hate relationship (more hate than love but I'm learning to give my body grace!)

In the literary words of our dearly departed princess Aaliyah, we really be going back, back, forth & forth when it comes to learning life’s ever changing lessons. The struggle is real ya’ll!
